Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru
‘Toolz’ was born in 1982. In the past one year she has presented/anchored/hosted The Midday Show on the Beat 99.9FM. Weekdays 11am– 4pm (May 2009 to present) and co-anchored the Soundcity Video Music Awards 2009 (Aug 2009). She also did ad-hoc work for MTV Networks Europe before relocating to Nigeria.
Matse Uwatse
Matse was born in 1981. She has worked for 95.1 Wazobia fm since its inception. In the past one year she has presented Eko How Una see Am?, Amebo Zone (Family/Personal /Relationship issues) in this segment, Peoples Choice (showcases both old and new musical talents) She is also a voice over artist for TVC’s and Radio commercials, an MC, interior designer, a writer and an artist. She won the Most Outstanding Radio Presenter in West Africa at the 2009 African Voice Award, Nairobi Kenya, the Women in Media Nigeria Excellence in Radio Presenting (2009), and the Club Unique Award (Most Outstanding Radio Presenter of this generation amongst others).
Gbemisola Olateru-Olagbegi
Gbemisola Olateru-Olagbegi was born in 1984. In the past one year she has hosted Midday Oasis on 96.9 Coolfm and The Drive Time show on The Beat 99.9fm. she has also worked for/with SPEAKERBOXX PRODUCTIONS, MEERMAAD (AISHA AUGIE KUTA), VEDA TECHNOLOGY, INDOMIE NOODLES, WIFTIN- WOMEN IN FILM & TELEVISION, PAN AFRICAN UNIVERSITY,SIXTH SENSE, PAX BRIDALS, MONTAIGNE SPA, UPFRONT & PERSONAL, HEDGES & SMITH, CHASE EXECUTIVE SERVICES, AFRICA PRACTICE R&B, MTV BASE and THENETNG.COM (NIGERIAN ENTERTAINMENT TODAY). She runs SPEAKERBOXX, which is a media company, and also just started another media company with a few partners called ROCK ON ENTERTAINMENT. Her awards include RADIO PRESENTER OF THE YEAR- DYNAMIXX AWARDS 2008, GREEN AWARDS- MARCH 2009, and RADIO PRESENTER OF THE YEAR- EXQUISITE LADY OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2009
Beeny Ark
Beeny Ark was born in March 1979. He hosts the Good Morning Nigeria show (96.9 Cool FM Abuja). In the past one year he has hosted the Jam Mega Festival (JAM – House On The Rock Abuja 2009) and the YES records Album Listening. He is into events management, Multi-Media Production, Modelling and Advertising. He was nominated for the Mode Men Man of the year award for Best radio personality 2008 and won the Electronic Media Practitioners Consult 3rd Abuja Merit Award for Best Radio Personality Abuja 2009).
Gbemileke “Oscar” Oyinsan
Gbemileke “Oscar” Oyinsan (Oscar on Radio) was born in 1984, and in the past one year has (co)-hosted / presented / anchored Ali Baba’s “Kings of Comedy Show”, Future Awards Pre Awards Lecture, Nigerian Fashion Show and Nigerian Models Awards. He has worked with DDB Advertising(Production Assistant) and handled Radio and TV Production for MTN, FIDELITY Bank, Consolidated Breweries to mention a few. He is also the VJ for SHOWTIME AFRICA, Nigeria’s version of E- news. He runs a company (TTG VENTURES) that handles radio production and consultancy for media practioners and anyone that needs to get their product advertised via radio or TV, and has been a professional Voice Over Artiste (4 years). He is the Co-producer of a TV show called VIEWS&TUNES, and co-presents a show called the MIDDAY CAFÉ on 92.3 INSPIRATION FM where he focuses on content development to help the working class and the youth via radio. One of his ideas on radio is “Shoutout in your Mother Tongue”. This is his first awards nomination since his career kicked off since 2005.
Tosyn Bucknor
Tosyn Bucknor (Radio Name: Area Mama) was born in 1981. In the past one year she has hosted / presented the Muson Jazz Festival, Coca Cola Give Back Show, Just U Celebrating Change, Taruwa World Aids Day special, Unveil Launch, Harambe Conference (moderator), Facing the Giants, These Genes Sickle Cell Radio Special and worked with Maggi, Coke, MTN, Zain, Etisalat, HiTV, Insurance Awareness and Zapphaire Bridal Show. She is also a writer (runs a column in the Guardian; wrote scripts for Mum and I, About to wed, and more; Guest writer for NETng.com), Content Director (AMBO), Blogger, Singer/Songwriter (as Miss CON.tra.diction) and runs a company called s.h.a.r.e and an initiative called THESE GENES. She also made a guest Appearance on MTN Project Fame. She’s been nominated for Women in Media and Entertainment Awards, Exquisite Lady of the Year Awards, and Dynamix Awards and won the Best of Nollywood Awards.
Amaka Udeh and Pius Charles
Amaka Udeh and Pius Charles were born in 1986 and 1985 respectively. In the past one year they have presented/anchored/hosted The Afternoon Rendezvous (12-4pm) on Hot FM Abuja. They have worked with Vision Media Services (owners of Vision FM Abuja and Hot FM Abuja (Pius Charles) and with Plus 234 Media Production Abuja (Amaka). They work as Entertainment Correspondents for Hot FM Abuja. Pius Charles was awarded a Certificate Of Commendation by the NYSC 2008/09.
Chuks (the Spaceman) Roberts
Known as Chuks Da Spaceman, the 30 year old, who is easily the leading radio voice in Enugu has in the past year worked on Cosmo FM and then Cool FM(Port Harcourt). He has also featured on Rated Africa (Channel O), Naija Sings (MNet) and Peak Milk Talent Show as a judge, and as an MC on the Legend New Bottle Unravel, and Naija Nite (Nigerian embassy in Kenya). He has also been a consultant for Homeboyz Radio, Kenya. He has also worked as a voice over artiste, and rap artiste/music producer with JMartins, Kaka, Illbliss, Igho, and Chudi K. His sophomore album drops in 2010.
