Getting sucked in again

So he gets one whiff of her…he’s overwhelmed.Image0113m

Its the best damn thing he’s ever smelled – it drives him CRAZY.

So he stays away from her ‘cos he can’t control himself, yes, we’ve all either read it or seen it.

Then of course he goes back, he can’t stay away from her anymore.

He loves her too much, they’re meant for each other….touching isn’t it?

And here is the point we must begin to apply our faculties to answer

When did he fall in love with her? Let’s forget HOW ‘cos how anyone in the world falls in love can never be understood.

While he was avoiding her perhaps?

Oh yes of course… absence makes the heart grow fonder doesn’t it? Hey she fell in love with him in this time as well. Why? Typical girl wanting the guy she can’t have maybe?

Unless of course,

Yes… that’s it… love at first sight.

Or… as in this case… love at first smell.

Yes!

That’s it!

Now girls, all you have to do is find a vampire who wants to eat you… or rather drink (and no not sexually) more than anything else in the universe and you’ll have the happiness u’ve always wanted!

Guys, hey we can’t be vampires but we can go round sniffing girls who aren’t scared of being ingested right?
They seem to like it.

Alright that’s the problem I’ve got with the whole story… it all seems a bit too ridiculous for someone like me. Maybe I’m too smart to enjoy anything…hmph.
But then after reading the book “Twilight” and wondering what the fuss was about, I put my hopes in the movie.
One word for it in my opinion: drab.
The acting was all a bit too bland for me really and the director apparently made no effort not to make an already weak storyline any less absurd.

These rantings are all against the backdrop of the newly released movie in the series “New Moon”.
Once again I have put my hopes in this movie, hoping it doesn’t disappoint me like the last one. Foolish maybe?
Well, till I see the movie.

It’s the 13th of October.

Actually it’s the 7th of November but let’s just flip back to that date shall we?Image0113m

The declaration is made on Rihanna’s twitter and facebook pages as well as her website.

“The Wait is Over. November.23.2009″. Speculations of a new album spread as furiously as the internet will allow.

They’re not far from the truth either.

A week later, new album art is released. It’s edgy to say the least. A true representation of the single that’s out at the end of the week.

Yes “Russian Roulette” sees Rihanna pushing past whatever limits she had before.

How else could I describe a song where she’s singing so deeply about what is apparently a deathwish?

But she doesn’t stop there, oh no. She proves this is gonna be one hell of a comeback as she sings “I pitch with a grenade/Swing away if you’re feeling brave/There’s so much power in my name” in her latest video “Wait Your Turn”.

Fresh on the heels of her new releases and the controversy one can only imagine comes with a song about suicide, is the interview that’s generating so much buzz.

“The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other”.

-Rihanna on ABC’s Good Morning America show.

Apparently, the beating Rihanna took from Chris Brown earlier this year made her skin quite tough. So tough, that it could withstand the several jabs from the ice pick that is Diane Sawyer’s condescending tone (guess she just can’t help it) and give what is undoubtedly a moving interview on said beating.

The issue here though, is that it seems to have brought her a lot of foes.

The backlash is crazy!

RiRi what the hell are you doing crying on that show? It happened 9 months ago! Mehn get ur carribean ass off and go sit somewhere. I mean he said he was sorry didnt he?

Yep, that’s the general reaction. She’s looking for pity…I mean what else could it be? Why else would she embarass herself crying on national tv?

And of course we must ask…why is this coming now? as she’s about to release an album? This girl knows she’s washed up and she’s just looking for some cheap publicity. Of course! yes, that’s it…publicity. EVERYTHING is about publicity these days isn’t it?

Gosh the things people think.

Seriously.

The hatin is ridiculous. People have even taken to making funof “#rihannasforehead” on twitter to express their UNFOUNDED anger.

I mean really.

Guy beats up girl.

Girl speaks out.

Everyone hates girl.

WHY?? No no no! That’s just wrong. People need to free this girl and let her do her thing.

Granted, it happened 9 months ago…but in that same sentence you find the words IT HAPPENED.

Nothing takes that away.

Perhaps its the different approaches of both parties.

Strong woman rising above vs poor little boy who made a mistake.

Who’s gonna get the pity? yup.

Hey I’ve got nothing against the guy…far from it. But people need to get off this girls back already.

Oh well…opinions opinions…everybody has them.
